Cruise Terminal fit for a Queen
The Port of Brisbane and the State Government have officially commenced the land side construction of the new International Cruise Terminal with Premier Palaszczuk turning a sod at this $158 million development.
Ships like the Queen Elizabeth and Mega Cruise Ships that visit the port do not currently have a dedicated facility. This will all change when the new terminal opens in October next year. The Premier acknowledged how the benefits of such projects flow through our entire economy. The facility is close to Brisbane airport allowing easy access and providing the facility a real edge to service this growing industry.
Brisbane Marine Pilots has been assisting the Port and State Government as this project has matured, providing pilots to undertake simulation work, to test design viability and safety.
Congratulations to both the Port and State on the realisation of this project.
